Eyelid Surgery

Protrusion of Eye

You may have seen a person with protruding eyes, or you may actually be the one with this problem. A double fold surgery is generally not good for this condition, it can actually make the condition worse and make one appear to have “Drooping eyelids”. It can be very stressful. 

Luckily, Dr. Peter Kim Chan Woo has the solution to your problems. With his expertise, he can address your problem with the protrusion and give you the look you most desire for!

Surgical method

Dr. Peter Kim’s special operation method can be performed with no obvious superficial scar via incision through the conjunctivae. This can be accessed by drawing the inner canthus towards the nose revealing the pink conjunctivae. The protrusion of the eye will be decreased by securing the bone that supports the eye through the conjunctivae. This will obliterate the space and the protruded eye will naturally go inside. It takes 20 minutes to operate on each eye with a total of one hour including the anesthesia.

Postoperative care

Postoperative care entails judicious application of ice packs for 48 hours. This will keep periorbital hematoma formation to a minimum. Warm compresses are then applied to hasten the resorption of the bruises leading to complete recovery in 1-2 weeks.

Exophthalmos (Prominent Eye) is to protrude (pop out) eyes abnormally, and they occur due to congenital and acquired cause.

Prominent eyes have not only the aesthetic problem, but also can occur swelling eyes, congestedeyes, and blurred vision. So they need to be corrected as soon as possible.

Orbital Expansion Surgery

We incise ocular conjunctiva which is shown as drawing an interior orbital part towards the nose and processing the surgery.
We can osteotomize orbital wall bones through ocular conjuctiva and push the osteotomize bone towards a medial orbital wall and then enlarge the orbital space.

Orbital Fat Removal Surgery

Method of surgery to remove appropriately structure, the orbital fat in the eye lid.
If customers have the burden of orbital expansion surgery or surgery cost, only reloose-fitting orbital fat can correct prominent eyes effectively

In the past, the orbital surgery taken 4 ~ 5 hours was seriously considered to lose eye-sight.

Unlikely the past surgery, we perform orbital expansion surgery within 1 hour. In order to check the postoperative safety, we recommend to stay at our center for 1 day.
